This section explains the relationships Hayate had with each of the characters. Some sections will have spoilers for the series in it, but I will put a spoiler warning in front of the sections that apply.
Himeno * The new Pretear. Hayate calls her tulip-head, poking fun at her because her hair looks like an up-turned tulip. In the beginning, Hayate treats her fairly badly, for the fact that he doesn't feel the Liefe Knights need a Pretear. Later on, though, he warms up to her and develops a deep respect for her, and perhaps...something more?
Sasame * Liefe Knight of Sound and Hayate's best friend. Sasame and Hayate are close, and trust each other very much, despite the fact that he and Hayate are opposites. Sasame almost always can tell what Hayate is thinking, without asking him, as well.
Kei * Liefe Knight of Light. Kei and Hayate do not interact very much throughout the series, but they seem to get along well, even though Hayate disapproved of him telling Himeno the truth about his past.
Goh * Liefe Knight of Fire. Hayate and Goh do not get along very well, from what I see, and they fight constantly; probably because both of them have a leader-ish type of personalities and both want to take control of important situations, which makes their identities clash.
Mannen * Liefe Knight of Ice. Mannen doesn't like to be treated like a kid, even though he is. He would rather be treated like a real Liefe Knight, as he calls it. Hayate treats him like a kid anyway, even though Mannen dislikes him for it.
Hajime * Liefe Knight of Water. Hajime's personality wasn't very developed in the series, other than you seeing him being a very cute and excited kid, which is exactly how Hayate treats him: like a kid ^^;;;
Shin * Liefe Knight of Plants/Nature. Shin is just a cute and chibi little kid, which, again, is exactly how he is treated by Hayate.
Kaoru * Himeno's father. Kaoru finds Hayate wandering around the garden one day, and he needed some help at the time, so he hired Hayate to help him with his claywork. He tells Hayate about Himeno's past and to try to get along with her.
Mayune * One of Himeno's two step-sisters. Except for one scene, Mayune doesn't have much interaction with Hayate. She runs into Hayate one day in the garden, when he accidently knocks her down. She makes him go through the "bathroom" scene where she is in the shower and he waits outside of it, as she asks him for her bathrobe. Hayate doesn't stick around to give her the bathrobe, but Tanaka does ^.~
Takako * ~spoiler warning~ Former Pretear/Saihi. When Takako used to be Pretear, she fell love with Hayate. Unfortunately, Hayate did not return her feelings (for reasons unknown). The pain and anguish of the rejection caused Takako to turn into Saihi.
